My name is Anya McInroy, and I am a photographer based in Northern California. I am here to share the simple beauty of the ordinary and celebrate each and every human difference. We all have a story and I’d love to capture yours. I was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease at the age of 8. On February 25th, 2020, I received the unimaginable gift of a kidney from a lifelong friend, and I’m happy to report that I have never been healthier. This year in particular has opened my eyes to what truly matters and how I want to spend these precious and fleeting moments.
Of Those You Love is an ongoing documentary photo series that highlights the individual lives of people with an illness or disability, from the mundane to the emotional and everything in between. I hope to capture your true essence and daily routine, inspire our audience, encourage inclusion, and spread positivity. We will spend a few hours together and document the intricacies of your life story in whatever capacity you’d like. You will receive a gallery of images of our time spent together, marking this moment in your life, and celebrating all that makes you, you. If you would like to participate or know someone who would, contact me below. All are welcome here, thank you so much for stopping by.
“Having grown up with a brother with special needs and being a kidney transplant recipient myself, these communities are my whole world. Of Those You Love was born out of a deep passion to honor my brother’s life, highlight untold stories, and share the artistry of everyone’s normal.”
